Alaska Autism Resource Center

What:

The AARC makes available centralized expertise in Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD).  The AARC increases provider, educator and parent knowledge and skills in ASD interventions, and increases the number of providers able to conduct screenings and provide appropriate services for individuals with ASDs.

Why:

Enhanced training, information and parent support specific to ASD is offered and continues to be urgently needed by providers, educators, families, and others.  Although incremental changes have occurred on behalf of children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders in Alaska, the pace and amount of change has been inadequate to meet the needs.
