Teresa Holt is the project coordinator for the Education and Early Intervention Committees at the Council. Prior to being hired at the Council in April 2008, she was a special education advocate at the Disability Law Center of Alaska. She has eight years experience working with families to ensure their special education rights under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). She has worked as an advisor to a grassroots, self-advocacy organization for people with developmental disabilities on both state and national levels. Prior to working for the Disability Law Center of Alaska, she worked as a case manager for six years at the Arc of Anchorage.
Teresa has been married for 20 years and has two teenage children. She is also the parent of a child who received special education services for a learning disability. She enjoys outdoor activities including skiing, gardening, hiking and traveling. For photos of the Holt family adventures, click here.
