Juvenile Justice Success Stories in Alaska
An eighteen year-old youth successfully completed transition at McLaughlin Youth Center and went to work as a deckhand on a fishing vessel in Dutch Harbor. The youth recently returned to Mat-Su after a successful fishing season. He has obtained his own apartment and is planning to get a vehicle. He has a full-load scholarship at Matanuska-Susitna College (an extended college of University of Alaska Anchorage) and will begin his studies this fall.
